Back to travel abroad!!

It’s been 6 years since the last trip overseas and finally I’ve started seeking an adventure again outside Japan, omg, that was so thrilling!

This time, our destination was Sydney, Australia! None of us had never been there.

My ten years old daughter have no memories from previous trips overseas so it was kinda her first one to experience a whole new world.

There were a lot of ups and downs, the day before heading to Sydney, she got the flu and let the trip be on thin ice!! But there was no way to cancel it considering the amount of money we paid for. haha😭

We somehow managed to leave the country after doing everything we could to bring her fever down so she could board the flight.

She really showed her guts — accepting her fate and powering through the 10-hour flight like a champ.

Upon arriving the hotel, we soon realized that every big city has own rule like you cannot expect to be able to eat out anytime

After all, we ended up ordering room service for the next day — tired, hungry, and too exhausted to care anymore.

The weather was lackluster, and she was feeling down, so I embarked on a little journey to find an upside-down world map — something my father-in-law had asked me to look for.

Then, it dawned on me that there’s always a silver lining.

The scale of the bookstore I stepped into for the map completely blew my mind.

Exploring a bookstore was never on my bucket list, since we were planning to go beach hopping.

But as a bookworm, it felt like a candy store.

I literally went bananas and went on a shopping spree, spending nearly $700 on thirty books 😅

I heard my husband sigh when he saw the pile of books, already worried about how they would fit into our suitcase.

Here’s just a fraction of the books I picked up:

• How to Adopt a Human: A Cat’s Guide

• Everything Under the Sun

• This Is ADHD

• Caring for Country (the history of Aboriginal people)

• Jane Eyre

I was over the moon, and I’m already looking forward to savoring every page, one by one, over the next year ❤️

We finally made the most of Sydney all together on day four, when the sun finally decided to show up and her energy slowly came back.

Manly Beach, the animals, the chilly ambience, and the warmth of the local people…

Everything was bloody expensive but we love Australia and will definitely be back ❤️

We’d never had mushroom sauce before it was so good❤️
